Awesome. Calling Domination 3 the event of summer would be an understatement, as it would probably be the benchmark for future gaming/pop culture events—and 21,000 gamers in attendance couldn’t be wrong.

Breaking the already phenomenal 18,000 record attendance set by Domination 2 last year, , E-games COO Gil Edeza, attributed the success of Domination to the incredible support of the e-Games and X-Play community.

Held on April 4, at the SMX Convention Center, Domination 3 upped the ante from last year’s celebration, with more games, more live tournaments, offline activities and bigger prizes. Domination 3 became the “e-Games universe of online games”  and made sure that the venue reflected the theme for this anniversary celebration. Games, freeplays, freebies and other activities kept thousands of e-Gamers and X-Players busy and happy. More than 200 PCs were made available for freeplay. RAN Online, CABAL Online, Granado Espada, ZX Online: Journey to Immortality, Nostale, Audition Dance Battle and O2Jam  product teams held their  online tournaments and contests for their gamers at their respective booths. Meanwhile, the NBA Street Online team hosted their own game demo at their booth and also included a half-court  basketball shoot out as one of its side activities.

The winners of these tournaments received coveted in-game items, gift packs from Globe,  Epoints and cash prizes. For O2Jam, they gave a total of P50,000 to  their tournament winners plus in-game items.

Besides the tournaments, RAN Online raffled off a motorized scooter and a top-of-the line PC while CABAL Online gave away an entertainment/multimedia notebook computer, a mobile phone and an Apple IPOD  player. One lucky  player from ZX Online: Journey to Immortality, and another from  Granado Espada won Hong Kong and Singapore trips correspondingly.  They also raffled off top-of-the-line graphics cards and LCD monitors. Audition Dance Battle held their own set of activities and gave away thousands of ePoints and an electronic GoPed.

Cosplay, which has become one of the much-awaited part of the event, wowed the crowd again as cosplayers paraded their costumes based from popular movies and shows as well as from e-Games titles. Cosplay princess and ZX Online: Journey to Immortality endorser, Alodia Gosiengfiao also had something to share with her supporters in her very own fan’s day event. But e-Games did more than just provide gaming and showbiz entertainment and prizes. e-Games also spent time in granting requests of kids from Make-A-Wish Foundation. e-Games’ vice president for Marketing, Ed Pasion personally gave  brand-new PCs to two chronically ill teenagers so they can study and play games as well. “It’s been a yearly tradition and we feel that granting the wishes of kids from the  Make-a-Wish Foundation makes this annual event more than just gaming, it’s about reaching out to people in whatever situation  or condition they are in and letting them enjoy the event and more.”

Salesforce.com launches year-round CRM Mini Seminars with IP-Converge

http://www.manilatimes.net/national/2009/april/24/yehey/techtimes/20090424tech5.html
April 24, 2009

IP Converge Data Center, Inc., the information technology and telecommunications division of publicly-listed IPVG Corp., and Salesforce.com, world-leader in on-demand business services and customer relationship management (CRM) launched a series of CRM Mini Seminars and Powerstart Workshops in Manila last March and will go on until the end of 2009.

These year-round activities are part of IP-Converge’s thrust to educate and evangelize business owners and executives on the benefits of cloud computing in today’s budget-sensitive yet results-oriented economy. The CRM Mini Seminar tackles the role of CRM solutions for growing organizations and the advantages of cloud computing, specifically, multi-tenant architecture and subscription-based models, over traditional business operations technologies which start-ups or small and medium sized companies find difficult to gain access to, be it for pricing or sizing reasons. The Powerstart Workshops on the other hand, provide users with hands-on experience and personalized training on the numerous applications and features of Salesforce.com. The seminars and workshops are free of charge and are conducted by Salesforce.com-certified resource speakers from Salesforce.com in Singapore and IP-Converge in the Philippines.

Mimi Dizon, IP-Converge’s Business Development Director for Salesforce.com, believes that these seminars and workshops are a must-attend for business owners who want better control and visibility into their business; sales, marketing or business development managers who would like to connect between demand generation and deal closure; or customer relationship managers looking for ways to improve overall customer experience.

“This collaboration gives business owners and sales managers the unique opportunity to learn how an affordable enterprise solution can drive success in terms of sales and operational efficiency without the high cost of hardware, space, utilities, software, and an entire technical team,” says Dizon.

IP-Converge is Salesforce.com’s exclusive go-to-market partner and system integrator in the Philippines as well as an outsourced technical services provider for the Asia-Oceana region. In 2008, IP-Converge was appointed as Authorized Training Center by Salesforce.com, making the Philippines only the third country in the entire ASEAN region recognized to have the skills and knowhow to conduct official Salesforce.com technical and operational training sessions.

“We are very excited about these mini seminars, particularly in that IP-Converge is actively propagating the use and benefits of cloud computing across the enterprise markets,” says Rene Huergas, President of IP-Converge. “At the same time, we are developing technical skills in the CRM arena, and eventually open new opportunities for technical support across the Region. Our partnership with Salesforce.com has been very successful, with revenue growth of 142% year-on-year; and this year, our CRM business is projected to achieve similar growth potential”, he adds.

Gamer celebrate Domination III, Rohan goes open beta

By: Ed Richelle Uy
The Sunday Times – Page B8
April 5, 2009 – Sunday

It was one last party before the Holy Week as gamers trooped to the SMX convention center to celebrate Domination III – E-games annual event that showcases everything about gaming. And true to its name, it truly was a day of Domination.

The road to clan superiority ended at the SMX as it served as the battleground for the tournament finals of Audition Dance Battle, O2 Jam, Granado Espada, Nostale, Ran, Cabal and its latest game ZX Online. All the top clans from all over the country were there to assert their dominance and prove to their peers that they truly are the best at their game.

E-games likewise aired another video of NBA Street Online, a preview that only served to further tease a lot of gamers who have been waiting for this title since last year.

Besides game, however, Domination III also served as a pop culture festival as Cosplayers paraded around the venue in their intricate and colorful attires. The Girls of the 2009 Ran Calendar (which, unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get), then made lot of necks stiff, eyes pop and jaws drop as they graced the catwalk. But perhaps one of the biggest highlights of Domination III was the Alodia Gosiengfiao fan’s day wherein the Popculture, Cosplay Princess and ZX model, met and spent time with her increasing number of fans.

More details and picture in the coming weeks!
